Dr. Jack Wilson Joins NFBJS

North Florida Bone & Joint Specialists will welcome Dr. John "Jack" Wilson to the practice on Sept. 1, 2026. A fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Wilson brings advanced expertise in adult reconstruction, primary and revision hip and knee replacement, anterior hip replacement, minimally invasive joint replacement, selective robotic-assisted joint replacement and fracture care.

Dr. Wilson believes successful orthopaedic care begins with building strong relationships with his patients through clear communication, shared decision-making and individualized treatment plans. Combining evidence-based, state-of-the-art treatment with compassion and precision, his goal is to help patients reduce pain, restore function and return to the activities they enjoy.

A Foundation Built on Clinical Excellence

Dr. Wilson graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences before earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. While in medical school, he was inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Gold Humanism Honor Society, recognizing his academic achievement and commitment to compassionate patient care.

He continued his training through an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of South Florida and Florida Orthopaedic Institute before completing an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the prestigious Southern Joint Replacement Institute in Nashville, Tennessee. Throughout his training, Dr. Wilson received multiple honors, including repeated recognition as a top performer on the Orthopaedic In-Training Examination, reflecting his commitment to clinical excellence and lifelong learning.

Dr. Wilson has also contributed to advancing the field of joint replacement through research. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented research at regional and national orthopaedic meetings, including those of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Clinical Orthopaedic Society and Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation. His research interests have included total joint replacement outcomes, implant optimization, robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty and revision shoulder arthroplasty. He is also an active member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and remains engaged in the latest advances in joint replacement surgery.

A Commitment to Patients and the Community

Beyond his clinical and research interests, Dr. Wilson is passionate about education, mentorship and serving his community. He has worked as a research and orthopaedic interest group mentor for medical students, coordinated orthopaedic clinics for veterans at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital and provided sideline medical coverage for high school athletics. That commitment will continue at North Florida Bone & Joint Specialists, where Dr. Wilson will serve as team physician for athletics at Pine Forest High School.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Wilson enjoys spending time with family and friends, saltwater fishing, exercising, traveling, reading and duck hunting. And as a proud University of Alabama graduate, he is also an enthusiastic Crimson Tide fan!
